I had a wonderful vegan Thanksgiving. I normally dont make Tofurkey or any other type of 'turkey replacement' product because with all the sides, I get full anyways! Also, I dont like supporting the whole idea of "turkey = thanksgiving" because eating animals (or a replacement) isnt what Thanksgiving is all about.
Here are some of the lovely vegan foods I dined on :)
- Cranberry tart
- Apple pie
- Ginger spice cake with Chocolate frosting (I made it!)
- Cornbread stuffing
- Candied yams
- Roasted veggies with olive oil
- Cranberry orange relish
- Mashed potatoes
The spice cake I made was from a premade mix. Its from a The Gluten Free Pantry. All of their products are made with white rice flour instead of wheat. The result, very moist creations! I used applesauce instead of buttermilk, and Ener-G Egg Replacer instead of egg whites. (1 egg white is the equivalent of 1/2 an egg's worth of replacement)
Enjoy the last few waning hours of the holiday break!

amazing what wonderful foods we can eat by being vegetarian.
Hi - Allie. I came across your blog whilst I was looking for something entirely different, but whilst I am here I'll send a hello. Yesterday, we released all our vegan recipes onto the internet - to help make it easy for anyone to eat without meat. When I decided not to eat meat about 20 years (cough!!) ago - the options were dreadful and people thought you were really weird! I don't know if that has changed much? Anyway, if you need any recipe ideas, have a look under 'free recipes' on our site at http://www.damefandango.com/vhomepage.htm and happy eating! Warmest wishes, Scarlett
