Previously this blog was dedicated to the life and endeavors of a teenage vegan navigating a non-vegan world, with recipes, tips, animal activism and more!
Now, as of March 2011, I am embarking on a raw food journey for health as well as ethical reasons. Although I am currently raw, I am leaving all of my previous content up, including cooked-food recipes, etc. Veganism is great for the planet, the animals, and YOU!, no matter which form of it you choose to follow :)

Busy... as usual
I've been crazy busy again. Track has sucked, I have a stress fracture in my foot (most likely) so I can barely run. I have to get a bone scan this week, where they put a radioactive isotope in you through IV so they can see your bones. I don't like needles, and I don't the idea of radiosactive stuff going through my veins. If they find it, that means I have to wear a walking cast on my foot so I can't run, though track does end after this week. Which makes me really sad because I love track and it means I have to spend more time on homework :(

Layout Changes!
I made some changes to the layout. I added a search bar to the top of the page, so now you can search my site or the web with a single click. I also added some referrals for Google products, but I swear by them both and if you do them I get money ;)
I also switched up the order of things on the Nav bar. I put the Important Posts higher up and moved down the misc items + publications.
Thats about it! I probably wont post tomorrow because I have a track meet and I'm running the 1500m and the 800m, so I'm gunna be dog-tired!

Travelling With Fido and Easy Vegan Recipes from PETA
PETA has posted their Top Tips for Travelling With Dogs. If you are planning to travel with your dog this summe, you should definitely check this out. One of the tips is to give your canine ginger treats to help prevent carsickness (also works in humans for sea-sickness). You can order some online from CustomCanineCookies.com by clicking here.
PETA has also made another 2-week menu for new vegans, with super simple recipes. Certainly a must for people short on time or a just kitchen-challenged! Even if you arent a new vegan, there are many tasty, easy recipes.

New Vegan Fast Food Options!
Thanks to an email I got, there are now more options on the list. The Mediterranean Veggie was added to Panera Bread, and a veg*d up Taco Salad and Taco Bell was also added. In addition, a whole section was added for the restaurant, McAlister's Deli.
You can see the updated list here: http://aveganlife.blogspot.com/2006/03/vegan-fast-food-options.html

Busy Track Girl
I've been crazy busy the last few weeks. I had a huge Biology presentation/paper, and then it"s been nonstop Spanish, French, and Algebra II.
I've also been doing track and the practices are quite long. This past Wednesday, I had a meet at Spaulding (Barre) and I did really well (vegan athletes! rule!)
I got 3rd place in the girls 800m, out of at least 10 or 12 other high school girls!! I was supposed to have a meet today at Harwood Union (Duxbury), but it was rained out (of course though, we didn't find out until AFTER we got there). Well, I shouldn't say we. I (and the coach). Its a freshman/sophomore meet and I'm the only freshman (or sophomore).
So I ended up missing time with my boyfriend AND the sports assembly at school. And I happen to hold 4 school records :P They are:
HS Girls Long Jump - 10'4 (really sucky, the weather was bad but I'm the first girl to do this event!)
HS Girls 800m - 3:01.57 - Again, first HS girl to do this BUT I will improve this season cuz:
JNR HIGH Girls 800m - 2:56
JNR HIGH Girls 400m - 77 (or 1:17)
Ya I like braggin' because people say vegans don't make good athletes.... BULLSHIT!!
